This season we take you on a voyage of discovery that captures the romantic and nostalgic sides of the British summertime, in Secret Garden and Promenade, and adds a hint of Moroccan spice with the designs and location in Medinas and Minarets as we travel through the Soukhs and bazaars looking for inspiration. This season we have used different photographers for each of our stories to bring you three very different looks to explore. In Recreation Lisa Richardson and Rachel Henderson show us how to rejuvenate jumpers that have been languishing at the back of your wardrobe or turn that high street bargain into a one-off look. In Lazy Days Marie Wallin and Sarah Hatton have created homeware pieces such as a garden table runner and tea light holders that will add a highlight to outdoor living. Finally we revisit a very popular technique, short row shaping, essential to create the asymmetric and flared looks in designs such as the beautiful skirt, Wisteria.

This season is inspired by the eclectic mix of simplicity, adornment, nature and fantasy. All three stories in Rowan Magazine 40 contain garments which are both beautiful and very wearable.
Fade To Grey showcases our new yarn, Tapestry, a wool and soy bean mix. Simply styled, this story uses black and grey tones in the most delicate of ways.
Kindred Spirit is inspired by the colours and textures of the countryside in the Autumn. The combination of rural tones and folk design creates a story with a magical, handcrafted feel.
Legend combines rich purples, violets and amethysts with graceful pinks to create a wonderful, theatrical story, inspired by old tapestries, antique books and fairy tales.
Features in Rowan Magazine 40 include 'The New Generation', which introduces five students who were commissioned to design all the accessories in this magazine, 'How To Wear', in which we take three generations and show how to wear Rowan designs whatever your age, and an interview with Marie Wallin, Rowan's in-house designer, plus much, much more.
